5 or 6 ripe tomatoes, finely chopped
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced or pressed
1/4 cup chopped cilantro
juice of 1/2 lime
1-2 serrano peppers, seeded and minced fine
salt and ground pepper to taste
This salsa, also called Salsa Fresco and Salsa Cruda, is used as a dip served with tortilla chips, and as a condiment with main dishes such as tacos and fajitas.
Combine all ingredients in a bowl and refrigerate or serve at room temperature. Best when served fresh.
